Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. At the age five she moved to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to pursue a career as an actress. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a full-time school of theatre in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. When she was ten, she had performed and taken as the main character in several Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was spotted by Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were chosen to play three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first screen appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in the year 2001. It also was the film that was most popular of 2001. Opening weekday and weekend ticket sales were record-breaking. Reviewers were awed by the movie and its performances. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Then Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in an feature Film.
