Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a clan of musicians. Her childhood was spent listening to traditional, old boleros as well as traditional romantic, ranchero as well as romance ballads. Ana enjoys tangos, as well as operas and other dramatic kinds. Her mother taught her to sing. She began singing by Flavio Belcerra in the age of 16 when the singer was famous as a Mexican opera tenor. The School of Music of Guadalajara University as well as the School of Sacred Music of Toluca in Mexico continued her music education. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous opera choirs as well as chamber ensembles. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to the south of California. The group she is in currently part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and regularly performs as a soloist performing traditional Latin American music at private events. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing keep her engaged in a myriad of local activities as a teacher and performer. Ana was also a part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to give others a taste of her enthusiasm for traditional Latin American music. She is hoping that it will encourage younger generations of musicians to keep the tradition going.
